BEES, or Building for Environmental and Economic Sustainability, is a software developed by the Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). According to the BEES report, vinyl siding has certain qualities that actually has a positive environmental impact. Its relatively light weight allows more material to be packed per shipment, resulting in better fuel efficiency and a smaller carbon footprint.
As an extruded material, vinyl can be cut to custom lengths during manufacture.
